Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC)

The Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) is a federal Crown corporation created by Parliament in 1967 to protect your deposits made with member financial institutions in case of their failure. CDIC is NOT a bank. CDIC is NOT a private insurance company.

Eligible Deposits

The League Savings and Mortgage “Deposit Product List” displays products that are eligible for deposit insurance through the CDIC (up to the maximum protection limit). Eligible deposits must be in Canadian funds, payable in Canada, and have a term of no greater than 5 years.
